LEARN MORE ABOUT American Sign Language (ASL)
& How to Incorporate ASL...
Are you looking for a way to incorporate American Sign Language into your classroom? I am here to help.
I will lead participants through fun exercises to introduce you and others into the ubiquitous world of sign language, including common words, phrases, basics as well as culture.

As a teacher with a classroom consisting of 98% English Language Learners I quickly decided that I needed to find a better way to bridge the gap for those students. As I began to incorporate ASL this began to ease the frustration and potential for disengagement. I found that almost 100% of the students that I taught were fully engaged and interested in learning a new language. This includes: small phrases, check for understanding, vocabulary words for literacy, attention grabbers and so much more. Utilizing ASL in the classroom has allowed me to help students with their overall learning, speech and language delays, learning delays and challenges, and help to boost confidence and ownership in students. American Sign Language does not just benefit those that are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, with a language delay however it has shown to be beneficial as within this language gestures and kinetics are essentially fundamental necessary to ASL.
If you would like to get started and learn how to implement ASL in your classroom or learning environment I would be honored to set up a time to further discuss what this could look like for you.
